What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is a line of injectable dermal fillers that can be used to restore volume to the face and enhance its natural features. Juvéderm fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar found in the skin that retains moisture, keeping the skin elastic and supple. When hyaluronic acid fillers are injected into the skin, they can serve a similar function to collagen, filling in the skin and supplying youthful volume. There are many different formulations of Juvéderm available, each one designed to enhance and restore specific areas with varying thicknesses.
Juvéderm Candidates
Dermal fillers are a popular option for reversing signs of aging and enhancing features like the lips or
cheeks. If you’re bothered by the appearance of the following concerns, Juvéderm fillers may be able to
help:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hollow cheeks
- Undereye bags
- Thin lips
- Smoker’s lines
- Marionette lines
- Nasolabial lines
Juvéderm fillers contain lidocaine, a common numbing ingredient. If you have a history of reaction to lidocaine, Juvéderm may not be for you. During a consultation, our certified dermatology provider can
assess whether Juvéderm fits your cosmetic goals.

Juvéderm can be administered by our injectors during a 15-minute appointment. To begin, you’ll discuss your cosmetic goals and carefully develop an appropriate treatment plan. Then, the treatment area will be cleaned and prepared. The product is then placed under the skin using a very fine needle. Most patients can tolerate the injection process, but a numbing cream can be supplied. Juvéderm also contains lidocaine to further ensure a comfortable injection process. Juvéderm fillers produce immediate results and you can ensure you’ve achieved your desired look before leaving.
Juvéderm Results and Recovery
It’s common to experience slight redness, swelling, and sensitivity at the treatment site after Juvéderm but you can return to your normal schedule immediately. Avoid elevating your heart rate or sweating
since these can exacerbate swelling. Avoid blood-thinning edications in order to prevent bruising.
Allow 1-2 weeks for final results to settle in – at this time, you can return for additional treatment if needed. Each Juvéderm formulation lasts for varying amounts of time, but hyaluronic acid dermal fillers typically last for 6-12 months.
