What is SkinPen Microneedling?
Microneedling rejuvenates the skin by stimulating healthy new collagen production. Sometimes called collagen induction therapy or collagen remodeling, SkinPen generates tiny microinjuries in the skin with very fine and gentle needles. This process triggers the skin’s natural wound-healing response, causing it to generate new collagen, contract existing collagen, and rejuvenate itself for a brighter, more youthful look.
An additional benefit of SkinPen microneedling is that this versatile process allows active ingredients to absorb into the skin more effectively. Paired with medical-grade skincare products like serums or topicals, microneedling can be customized to your exact skincare needs.

What to Expect During Microneedling Treatment
SkinPen microneedling can be performed right at our comfortable office. During treatment, a specialized handpiece is used to gently stamp tiny microinjuries into the skin. Medical-grade serums and topicals are also applied so they can fully absorb into the newly created channels. Once complete, you can return to your normal schedule.
Microneedling Results and Recovery
Redness and sensitivity are to be expected after microneedling. Although you may return to your normal activities, avoid sweating, cosmetics, and harsh skincare ingredients for the first 1-2 days. As your skin heals, it may crust or scab temporarily. Keep the skin moisturized with a gentle, unscented moisturizer and cover it with broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 daily.
It may take 1-2 weeks for results to become apparent after microneedling, and it can take several weeks for the skin to generate new collagen. However, the result is a noticeable improvement in the skin’s texture, appearance, and quality with firmer, smoother skin. Most patients benefit from a package of microneedling sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart to fully address concerns – with a complete package, you can see ongoing improvement in your skin for up to six months.
